ACT! SOFTWARE INSTALLATION & SETUP FOR A SINGLE USER
We understand that not everyone who owns a computer is technical. That is why we offer our Act! Software Installation Services for Act! Premium Installation or Act! Pro Installation on your computer or laptop. Upgrading from a previous version of Act!? We can convert your database, layout and templates, and if necessary perform any design work for the layouts and reports. If you are new to Act!, we will help you create a database and provide any Act! Database Customization Services you need for capturing information important to your business and import your data. Once setup is complete, we will set the database backup and maintenance processes.
If you have both a desktop and a laptop we can setup synchronization so that you can keep the databases in sync and updated. Synchronization can occur over your network or we can setup a free VPN service for you to be able to synchronize with an internet connection while on the road.
MULTI-USER INSTALLATION & SETUP ON LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN)
Considered the direct-connect model, where there is a server or host machine and all workstations are connected through a local area network with real time access to the database. We can perform the Act! Software installation on the server or host machine and workstations. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Act!, we can convert your database, layout and templates, and if necessary perform any design work for the layouts and reports. If you are new to Act!, we will create a database and provide any Act! Database Customization Services you need for capturing information important to your business and import your data.
We will also create your users and set the user security level. If using the Act! Premium CRM product we can also set field level and record level security. Once setup is complete, we will set the database backup and maintenance processes. For each user we will connect the user to the server database and set the user’s program preferences for user access and integration.
MULTI-USER INSTALLATION & SETUP ON LAN WITH SYNCHRONIZATION
You may have some users that are using workstations and others that have laptops that need data offline when they are disconnected from the network. We can perform the Act! Software installation on the local network and setup services listed above. We’ll also set up synchronization for your laptop users. The Act! Pro product is limited to application sync where the program and database must be open on the server or host machine in order for synchronization to occur.
We recommend the Act! CRM product if you are going to utilize synchronization as it comes with sync services. Synchronization can be performed over your network or we can utilize an existing VPN for synchronization while on the road. If you don’t currently have a VPN we can setup a free VPN service for up to 4 remote users or a low cost VPN service for up to 30 remote users. The synchronization model can also be utilized if your business has multiple locations with remote offices.
MULTI-USER INSTALLATION & SETUP ON TERMINAL/CITRIX SERVER
The Terminal Services model takes advantage of Windows Server technology and allows the publishing of an installation on the server to be accessed by end users via remote desktop or Citrix. In this deployment scenario, we would perform the Act! Software installation on the server. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Act!, we can convert your database, layout and templates, and if necessary perform any design work for the layouts and reports. If you are new to Act!, we will create a database and provide any Act! Database Customization Services you need for capturing information important to your business and import your data.
We will also create your users and set the user security level. If using the Act! Premium CRM product we can also set field level and record level security. Once setup is complete, we will set the database backup and maintenance processes. Then we log in to the server for each end user to configure the program preferences for user access and integration
MULTI-USER INSTALLATION & SETUP ON WEB SERVER
Act! Premium CRM comes with both Windows and Web licensing that offers access to your data directly over the internet using Windows Server technology. We will perform the Act! Software Installation on your database and web servers. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Act!, we can convert your database, layout and templates, and if necessary perform any design work for the layouts and reports. If you are new to Act! we will create a database and can provide any Act! Database Customization Services you need for capturing information important to your business and import your data.
We will also create your users and set the user security level. If using the Act! Premium CRM product we can also set field level and record level security. Once setup is complete, we will set the database backup and maintenance processes. Users can access the database from any machine or device that has a compatible web browser or mobile web browser installed.
ACT! SOFTWARE INSTALLATION FOR MULTIPLE MODEL DEPLOYMENT
Act! Software Installation allows you to configure the solution based on your organization’s needs, whether they include online access, offline access, web access, handheld mobile access, or a combination of access methods. For more complex multi-user or multi-model deployments, we will determine what options are available and how they can be used most efficiently. With proper planning, a successful Act! Software Installation and deployment may include several of the models listed above.
*UPGRADING FROM ACT! 2000 (ACT! 5) OR ACT! 2002 – ACT! 2004 (ACT! 6) TO THE LATEST VERSION OF ACT! CRM
We can perform your Act! 5 and Act! 6 database upgrades, including any needed database repair.
*WHEN UPGRADING, THE DATABASE AND FIELDS WILL CARRY FORWARD INTO THE NEW ACT! CRM VERSION, BUT ANY CUSTOMIZED LAYOUTS AND/OR TEMPLATES MAY NEED ADDITIONAL CHANGES AFTER THE UPGRADE. CUSTOMIZED ACT! 5 & 6 REPORTS, LABELS AND ENVELOPES WILL NEED TO BE RECREATED TO THE UPDATED ACT! REPORT WRITER.
